This years Oscars fashion was as usual played very safe aside from the few rule breakers…..
….and believe it or not Amy Adams broke a few of her own rules! Even though it looked safe, Amy ventured away from her usual sleek, polished, Hollywood glam, side swept wave and opted for a more tousled undone beach wave with a centre part, who knew!
Ok so it’s not that ‘out there’ but at least it’s a little bit different!
Myself and Derrick Carberry recreated her look on Ireland AM this week on the beautiful Derbhla, here’s our comparisons.

The products used to create this look were:
Olaplex No 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo formula, this newest member of the olaplex family is colour protecting, sulphate, paraben, gluten, and nut free, and is vegan friendly. This is the best lather on a sulphate free Shampoo I have ever had and only needed to use a 10cent amount to get a really great wash! Available at €28.85 here
Olaplex no 5 bond maintenance conditioner. It hydrates and strengthens hair whilst repairing shattered hair bonds in between your salon visits. Coloured hair or not, this conditioner is a little hair makeover in itself! A small bottle goes a very long way. Available at €28.85 here
Mane n Tail detangler was used as a heat protection spray, Buy it at €5.96 here
Schwartzkopf Got2be Volumaniac root lifting spray was used on Derbhlas roots whilst her hair was wet to give it a bit of a lift at the roots, Special offer €3.99 here
I then blast dried Derbhlas hair with my dyson supersonic Available here
Tonging was done using my GHD Curve curling tongs Here and then broken up to create a messier wave using…..
Schwartzkopf Got2b made 4 mess styling spritz, it gives a great tousled beachy look to the wave Buy it here
Schwartzkopf Got2b beach Matt salt spray was used then to dull down the shine and mattify her hair, as Amy had little or no shine to her beach waves. €4.88 here
