Fashion Relief for Oxfam

I am finally getting around to sharing with you the success of Fashion Relief!

We have raised in excess of €70,000 for the hunger crisis in Ethiopia, Somalia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Sudan and Yemen.

There is also the online auction of 8 very special items on eBay.

I was overwhelmed with the amount of volunteers at the RDS that day, many of whom gave their whole weekend to set up on the Saturday and from 8am on the Sunday. We didn’t even get a minute to browse ourselves until near the end of the day, it was so busy…. we made sure to bag a few bargains though 😉

It was absolute shoppers heaven, clothes (designer and non designer) bags, shoes, jewellery and even wedding dresses!

To say I am proud of my amazing sister Lorraine for not only pulling this off but owning it like a boss, is an understatement.

She is truly an inspiration, always using her profile for the good of others. It’s amazing to see what can be achieved by doing so. Of course it helped that she had so many high profile friends giving not only their clothes but their time.

This is where the VERY LONG list of thank you comes in, because none of it would’ve been possible without these people:

Thank you to all our friends and family for helping out on the day, Ion Solutions, Nog at Actavo, Cater Hire, Food Cloud, catwalk models Maria, Irma, Rebecca and Emily from 1st Option MMP, Sarah McGovern Vaughan , Sarah Morrisey, Yomiko Chen, Ali Canavan, Daniel Twomey and Show Stylist & Producer Catherine Condell for volunteering their time too.

Joe Conlan Noel Cunningham , Mike and Paul @funkyfashionfrolics , Andrew Trimble and Guggi. The designers who donated brand new stock Deborah Veale Helen Steele , Melissa Curry, Fee G, Louise Kennedy and to The Hat Shop in Galway and the hundreds of boutiques and wholesalers all over Ireland who donated brand new items. To Mo Kelly who provided the music for the day and the After Party. Arthur Archie Carron and Philip Hennigan for pics.

Lorraine will be travelling with Oxfam Ireland to present the funds and will keep us updated on the trip and how we have all helped to save lives!
